Privacy and Data Protection

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Technway processes through the website and inquiry forms, why it is used, how long it is retained, and what choices you have.

Last updated: July 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Technway (“Technway”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles personal data when you visit this website, contact us, or submit a project brief. It is intended to provide clear information under applicable data protection law, including the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and the GDPR where it applies.

1. Who is responsible for your data?

Technway is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Questions or requests concerning privacy can be sent to contact@technway.biz.

2. What information do we collect?

We collect information that you choose to provide through the contact and project brief forms. Depending on the form, this may include your name, email address, company, selected services, project stage, goals, budget range, expected timeframe, website or reference links, and the message or project details you submit.

Our systems may also process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as the page requested, browser or device information, timestamps, and an IP address. The inquiry endpoint uses the IP address temporarily for rate limiting and, when enabled, spam verification. It is not stored as part of the inquiry record by the Technway WordPress plugin.

3. How do we use the information?

We use personal data to:

  • respond to messages and project inquiries;
  • understand the requested work and decide on an appropriate next step;
  • prepare a call, scope, estimate, or proposal where relevant;
  • operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and its forms;
  • keep necessary business and communication records; and
  • comply with legal obligations or protect legitimate rights when required.

4. Legal grounds where the GDPR applies

Where the GDPR applies, we generally process inquiry data because you asked us to take steps before entering into a contract, because the processing is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the website and responding to business inquiries, because you gave consent where consent is specifically requested, or because processing is required by law.

5. How are form submissions handled?

Valid submissions are stored as private inquiry records in the Technway WordPress administration area. They are not published and are not exposed through the public GraphQL API. A notification may also be sent to our contact email. When SMTP or another email-delivery provider is configured, that provider will process the information needed to deliver the notification.

6. Spam prevention and security checks

We use a hidden anti-spam field, request validation, and rate limits. Cloudflare Turnstile may be enabled in some environments. When it is enabled, Cloudflare processes limited technical information to assess whether a submission is legitimate, subject to Cloudflare’s own privacy terms.

7. Service providers and international processing

We may use hosting, infrastructure, email, security, and maintenance providers to operate the website. These providers may process data only as needed to provide their services. Some providers may process data outside your country. Where required, we use or rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

8. How long do we keep data?

Inquiry records are kept for the period configured in WordPress, currently up to 12 months by default, and are then moved to Trash automatically. We may keep relevant correspondence for longer when it is needed for an active project, contractual or accounting records, dispute prevention, or legal obligations. Technical logs are retained according to the settings of the relevant hosting and security providers.

9. Cookies and analytics

The website does not require advertising cookies in its default configuration. Essential cookies or similar technologies may be used for security, language, theme, session, or administrative functions. If non-essential analytics or marketing technologies are introduced, this policy and any required consent controls must be updated before they are enabled.

10. External links

The website may link to external services such as GitHub or social networks. Those services are responsible for their own data processing once you open their websites.

11. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including restricted administrative access, encrypted connections where available, validation, request limits, updates, and backups. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Please do not send passwords, payment-card data, medical information, or other highly sensitive information through the forms.

12. Your rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have the right to request information about your personal data, obtain a copy, correct inaccurate data, request deletion or restriction, object to certain processing, withdraw consent for future processing, or receive data in a portable format. You may also have the right to complain to a competent data protection authority.

To make a request, email contact@technway.biz from the address connected with your inquiry. We may ask for reasonable information to verify your identity. Legal exceptions may apply.

13. Children

This website and its inquiry forms are intended for business and professional use and are not directed to children. Please do not submit a child’s personal data through the forms.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website, forms, providers, or legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated date.

15. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, contact contact@technway.biz.
